A Celebration of All Things Pumpkin & Halloween

Date: Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28, 2017

Time: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

The Library’s Viridian Event Center is bringing back one of the Salt Lake County’s favorite family Halloween traditions: Pumpkinpalooza! This free celebration centers around all things pumpkin, and this year is bigger and better than ever!

Participate in the county’s biggest pumpkin carving contest and then come see your illuminated jack-o-lanterns on display in our brand new Pumpkin Alley (see rules and registration)! All contestants will be invited to a special VIP Awards Ceremony and Grand Opening of Pumpkin Alley the night before Pumpkinpalooza. So don’t miss out!

Your family can also experience our annual pumpkin pie eating contest, pumpkin arts and crafts, pumpkin smashing and more! Don’t forget, a costume contest too (pumpkin costume not required – but we couldn't throw a Halloween party without a costume contest)! Pumpkinpalooza also offers two dozen activity booths sponsored by businesses right here in our community. There will be more than enough fun for the whole family.

Scheduled Events:

Friday, 10/27/17 VIP Pumpkin Carving Awards
7:30pm VIP Pumpkin Carving Awards and Pumpkin Alley Grand Opening (for contestants, by invitation only)

Saturday, 10/28/17 Pumpkinpalooza
Activities will include: Pumpkin Alley, trick or treating, Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest, Pumpkin Chucking, Costume Parade and Contest and a Pumpkin Drop. Times and other activities TBA
